Hi all, I just got a 10 by 14 excellerator coil for my ace 250. I tested it and it doesn't seem to get anymore depth than my stock coil. Has anybody ever tried one? Are there any tips you can give me on it? Thanks

Maybe its not to late to send it back to Kellyco. Most of the Excelerator coils are not up to par with manufacturers coils and the Excelerator coil is one of them. Sunray and Coiltech are excellent.

What size coil would you suggest?

Garrett's small 4.5 sniper coil will do more for you in trashy areas than any larger coils.

I have found 5x more since I got my excelerator coil. Its a great coil and does great in the field, don't go off an air test, its not the same as being in the field.

Granted a larger coil covers more ground per sweep which will locate more items. It pays for everyone to get extra coils to see what they like. :coffee2:

Just want to point out the Excellerator coils and the SEF Butterfly coils are NOT the same, although made by same company. I sold my Excellator coil because I was not happy with it on my Sov GT, but I am VERY happy with the SEF Butterfly coils.... I own the 12x15" and 15x18" Butterfly coils, 12x15" is on one of my Excals, 15x18" is used on my Sovereign GT...

I think that going to a DD coil instead of a concentric coil makes a huge difference in most situations, wether smaller or larger.
