Started of today with a fellow Tnet member Jason. I was taking him to a homesite in the woods nearby my house with high hopes. After getting there and walking back we found the whole area flooded beyond and non accessable..
So we decided to drive and ask farmers for permission to metal detect. 1 by 1 we ask and get a short NO. Apparently someone has been reaking havok on their fields with NO permission. This guy even has the audacity to pull a knife on one of the farmers... Talk about ruining it for the rest of us.. If your on this forum I HATE YOU. We lost a super old colonial field thanks to your carelessness. The farmer thanked us for asking permission and told us to come back in 6 months after they knab this guy. Couple other leads turn cold and we wind up getting permission to hunt a 1940's house with a small field and another small plowed field. We hunted the 40's house for a few hours pulling wheaty after wheaty from the ground and a few cool items. A Davy Crocket ring, the tiniest pair of sciossors ever , one buffalo nickel and a few spoons. Jason pulled a silver rosy and merc also along with some other things he will chime in. Ended up with 22 wheat pennies all 1930-1955, 1935 buffalo and only 1 zincoln. It was a good ending at least we got to dig. But it wasn't the colonial finds we envisioned the night before. So for all you guys ruining it for the rest of us a big hats off to ya!
On a plus side we got some nice produce from one farmer, cant beat Jersey tomatoes!
