Thankx to all!! I always try to please you the good staff!

its hard to find the good stuff sometimes but you did very well!!! I haven't found any egg grenades yet. I still wish to find a "turtle" grenade. Nice ammo and belt buckle too!!

Nice finds
Dman

my good freind --those old handgranades are very dangerous!!! both the german potato masher and the soviet egg one---if they should go off its bye bye to you----we like your post and want to see more of them---so please be very ,very careful ---ps watch out for land mines too. Ivan

I think the nads are blanks, duds, misfires, empty no more explosives in them. I don't think he is that dumb to play with live ones.
Seems like a good fun hunt, nice post wish I was there.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Nice finds nahabit! It looks like a great time was had by all. History is much more interesting when you can put your hands on artifacts and relics instead of just reading about events in a textbook. Thanks for posting the pictures and I am looking forward to your next expedition.

Soviet RGD 33 hand grenade - 7-1/2" long and smaller than the German grenades

Great find! But, once it dries out the detonator could be very unstable. Fulminates and all kinds of oddball salts and acids in them.

the one looked like a "german" potato masher at first but your right charlie thicker handle russian model----- my mistake---sharp eyes you got there. ---still they are most likely highly unstable by this time I would think ---very dangerous stuff to be messing around with--- :P Ivan

if u can gently pop a hole in the side of the housing (the non egg type), u can wash the explosive out very easily. Most of the time, the dentonators are eaten away, since they are made of zinc or some other poor metal. Those types of grenades are made of really cheap/thin metal. Of course, be careful though. Out of the 3 grenades i took apart, i think the mills grenade was the hardest... just bec the base plug was stuck in there.
