I will no longer purchase anything from CHINA period and most of the fake china stuff is on EBAY.
Peg Leg

Peg Leg, I've noticed a lot of fakes comming out of China on E-Bay...even some cobs. I read the T-Net cob board and noticed fakes mentioned there all the time. None of the coins of mine have chop marks which made me a little suspicious....Not to mention sticking to a magnet! ;)

If they're magnetic, yup, they're modern fakes of 100-year-old coins. They should sound like, and be the same size as, Morgan dollars. Plus if you got them on the cheap that's another tipoff. And you're right, the one on the left is Japanese and the one on the right is Chinese.

I have seen these fake coins at flea markets in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virgina. Buyer beware.
