I got a great permission today, but wasn’t expecting much. Was told the house was built in 1950, yeah, no. The stone foundation and architecture of the house told me it was closer to 1900. Tall grass, trash everywhere…. Slow going to start. Finally, I squeaked out a merc. :headbang: It was the blackest I’ve ever seen a silver, it took a while for her to reveal herself. I showed it to the owner, she was happy that I found something, she didn’t think I would. Ha!

So a bit later I dug what I thought was a canoe medal? Kayaking? Tossed it in the bag… once I cleaned it up, wait! That’s a plane!, and an old one at that. Turns out it’s a monoplane watch fob, pre WW1, awesome!!! Found a bunch online, I love it!

Got a banging signal near there, thought it was Big Silver, but no, it looks like a drawer pull, and a fancy one at that!

Finally, I get the banger I was looking for, 90 on the Manticore, 6 inches down I see the rim, and oh yeah! :headbang::headbang::headbang:
It’s been about 5 years since I’ve dug one, and she’s a smoothie. 1917D on the reverse. Probably a $50 coin, so happy!!!

A fantastic hunt BWD! Congratz on the killer coin and relics! You and the Manticore are getting along well, no doubt.

Now that’s a good day detecting. Good job even with the trash.
