[Mich. Wolverine]

This is my favorite find of 2008. It's an old whiskey or beer barrel. I found it in the local river and is the second one in two years. It's 16 inches tall and both barrels are missing the end with the spigot hole so I think that when they were empty they were used for water catchers. Happy hunting.

Seger, I'm in northern lower Michigan. I wade the river in the winter time to look for old bottles and relics. It's something to hold me over until I can go metal detecting. Here is a picture of an anchor that was used to hold the logs upstream from the mill that were dogged together until they needed them. I found it a couple of years ago in the river. It also has a 6 foot hand hammered chain that was attached to it. Talk to you later.
