Federal reserve bank ikes?

Could be. The Feds always say nobody wants the dollar coin, well they obviously haven't asked Canada if we want them. Every other denomination of our coins (with the exception of the NIFC 50 cent piece) have their American equivalent circulating alongside them at the same face value and banks accept them as equals. If the Fed so desperately wants to get rid of these then why don't they sell them to the Canadian mint, they could circulate alongside our current dollar coin, same size same colour. Just my two worthless cents.

They could also be SBAs

They all look gold toned, except the ones in the white opaque bags. But I am sure the Fed has a nice stash somewhere......

They're the "golden dollars"....

The Fed Bank does have a stockpile of obsolete coinage. They are available for purchase. I have been researching and attempting to connecting the contact names for over two years. I believe I am possibly one or two name away from connecting the chain. This chain is from vault teller to bank corporate security/logistics to car company local office to Fed Bank.

I have obviously left out a few steps. If I ever make this chain connect I will post results, good or bad.

From what I've been told it's just a lack of communication why these coins are sitting around.

Good Luck to you! Obsolete coinage is an interesting term, I wonder if it is just Ikes they keep.
