Been a long time since I got out but today I had a gee hours so I went and checked out a spot I found a while back but didn't get a chance to swing. The coppers are toast but there is a few kglll, a KGll and a blank. A few tombacs, pewter buttons, and a broken shoe buckle frame with some initials. Two mystery pieces I'm looking for an ID if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Nice bunch a finds! Congrats

Glad you're happy to get out again.

I'm thinking I need the opposite. A break.

I went out today and got a total of 86 cents in about an hour.

Kinda got discouraged and went home. Thinking I'm hunting too much.

Interesting finds!

I think we all go through that. I come home empty handed a lot. A real lot. It's what I might find tomorrow that keeps me going. Maybe a short break would do some good. Makes the small things a bit more exciting.

Glad to see you got out bud. Any day your pulling old coppers and buckle pieces you're in a good area and having a great day. I'm like you in the fact that I'd much rather go somewhere with incredible potential and strike out then go to a park or school where I know I'll find lots of targets but the chance of a great one is pretty low. I'm hoping to get to my new site this weekend but it's not looking good. Looking forward to your next hunt brother, Abe

Yeah, I've been around this hobby for a VERY long time. I knew that but I think I broke one of my own rules. Not to turn it into just another job.
I always try to make sure I really FEEL like going. I think I might've pushed a bit today, I was actually too tired to concentrate on what I was doing.

I'll get over it, I always do.

Thanks!

I keep hitting a spot that SHOULD be producing...but so far just nothing but pulltabs, nails, and clad....it's getting discouraging which sucks because I love to detect! I hit it for a few hours yesterday and the day before and an hour today....With a few bucks of clad and a junk earring to show for it. I will give it a rest for a few days and get back out there next week. Maybe some time off will do me some good.

Awesome job on those big coppers...I would love to find one but out here its not bloody likely!

Great hunt! I think the thing in picture 7 is a bell clapper.

Nice finds, Vanana made a good guess. Congrats!

Nice finds. Regarding your two mystery finds, the screw on the left is part of a colonial/federal period drawer pull (one went on each side to hold the pull). The other item may be a clapper, however it seems likely, as it is of the right shape and made of brass, that it is a single drop pull of the colonial/federal period.
