Fence post top maybe?(crotal bell, thanks guys)

Today was my single greatest day(see my post in Fisher for my praises of the Gold Bug DP ). Anyway below are pictures of my finds, the inlayed half orb thingy is what I am asking about, my guess is either an ornament or a fence post top.

Other items are harmonica reed, gas lamp switch, whats left of a spoon, and a womans gold ring(my first) all from early 19th century cellar hole.

Devildog has it...part of a crotal bell. The number L or 7 is part of the makers mark.

Thanks DevilDog.. that definitely looks like what it is. I'm glad I found that instead of a "scrotal" bell.
