Fencing

Any type of wire fencing whether its chain link, barbed wire, or whatever are not usually bought by the scrap yards. The problem with them is that when they are run thru a shredder machine the wire gets wrapped around the shredder drums and doesn't get cut up easily by them. For the same reason the scrap yards avoid bed springs for they also get wrapped around the shredder drums. Now wire and springs are actually good quality steel but because they are they won't shred and be cut up easily. What I have done in the past to get it sold at the scrap yard is to use small bolt cutters to cut the steel wire up into short one or two foot lengths. These short lengths won't be a problem selling. Also the support poles for any wire fencing won't be a problem either at the scrap yard. Regards, Chris Hyder.

Shouldn't be a problem. You might want to take a short piece of it down to the scrap yard to make sure or mix it in with a lot of other metal scrap.
