The bullet looks like a modern shotgun slug.

Flinthunter is correct. Speaking more specifically, your bullet is a particular variety of 20th Century shotgun slug, made for use in a Rifled Shotgun. The version you found dates from the early-1900s up to today. See the photos below. Their form varies somewhat, according to different manufacturer's design of it, such as Remington, Federal, Winchester, etc.

The other thing might be part to an older brass pop-up sprinkler.
