Hi all,

Here are a couple of photos of our finds from May 14. Had my brother join me on this trip. He instantly loved the hobby after his first find. He also found this old coin, which I’m about to do some electrolysis to. There is no other way to see anything on it.

I believe the one point is a Savanna. It’s absolutely perfect and sparkles when you turn it. That was his first find!

That sure looks like a Savannah River (and a very nice one!). Looks like you got Morrow Mountain as well. Nice going!

Awesome finds and I agree with Shorewalker on the types, in the 4th pic the one in hand would be a Guilford in my area but not sure about yours and if it's gray flint I have one almost identical.

Lets see the coin when its cleaned up. Nice point saves and its nice to see some finds instead of the flint knappers kit from every period, ha.

Thanks all!

Rock - I will be doing electrolysis to this coin tonight. It’s the only way to potentially ID it. I will share photos once complete. I just found a coin just like his metal detecting, and I did electrolysis and I started to see the outline of a head. So it worked so far! More to go.
