got out to a new field yesterday for a few hours, kinda slow the first couple of hours, but finally i headed towards one of the ridges that run through the middle of this field and i began hitting numerous targets, nearly everyone one turning out to be a flat button, there was some iron junk but not a lot, shallow targets too anywhere from 1 to 3 in. found 2 copper coins one is a large cent but is very worn other copper also worn no clue what it could have been unfortuneatly, last signal i get is deep and turns out to be what i think is a old flintlock trigger guard thats been bent out of shape? will be making a return trip for sure, all around a decent day BOTH DECORATIVE BUTTONS CAME FROM SAME SITE A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS TRIP

Yep,def a distorted trigger guard

saw a couple kentucky rifle trigger guards that looked pretty similar

Decent indeed. Hit that spot hard man!

Cool finds ,and I too think ya found a trigger gaurd, Also the Backmark that you showed the closeup of is a "Lewis & Tomes circa 1820-1832, Keep pounding tha ridge.......................HH

Can you take a closeup of the coppers? the smaller one could be a half cent, a 2-cent, a farthing.... its hard for me to tell with the pic you have up. Nice finds and looks like that spot has a lot of potential.

That place looks to b a SWEET one.. CONGRATS.. HH

Nice finds...keep on hitting that spot!
