This will be my first time to detect a farm property in IL. I'm going to focus on areas that had homes at one time, and along the creek. I use an ATPRO. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? I have two days so I'm hoping for decent weather! Thanks!

yea bring me with I love mud and corn stalk stubs

See how the field was plowed and make sure you go in those directions away from where the homestead once stood. Over the years coins and relics may have been dragged in those directions.

Sharp tools. IL soils can be kinda tough. And good luck, of course.

I try and find where the houses were & hunt front yard areas .........the barns /sheds areas can be a junkyard...easy to get discouraged ..but most hold something good especially if older..H-Hing

What days are you hunting? Old trees pan out 10 to 20 feet around them. with only 2 days to hunt that may not be enough time.....Maybe ask a few of us IL guys to join in ......

How was your hunt ?? hope it was worthwhile...
