Got out yesterday with Jim and Arty for our 3rd round at the fields we have been hunting. I never ceases to amaze me the stuff coming from these fields. The finds are getting smaller but there is still a ton of stuff there to be found. I found a 1775 Copper, an 1841 Large Cent, another toasted large coin, and a 1772 1 Reale. Also found what I was told is a clog clasp, a thimble, buckle, 2 ornate watch winders and tons of bullets or exploded bulletts, lead and buck balls. I also found 22 buttons, One is silver and there are 3 buttons with backmarks I haven't seen before. One says A. Benedict Best Double Guilt, the second one says Hammond Turner & Dickenson. The third one is Scovills Superior, come to think of it I think I have seen that before:) I did find one thing that I have never seen before. It looks like a 2 piece button that has a hole in the top and the bottom and has a design to it. Don't know if it is a button or not. Maybe you can tell me. I have a picture of the top and bottom of it. It is a little smushed but you will get the idea when you see the pics. The one nice thing about this hunt is everyone has found something really awesome and that makes it good for everyone. Can't wait to go dirt fishing next Sunday. I really can't wait till this ground is plowed!!!!!

Yeap, you got an 18th C Clog Clasp:icon_thumright:

Good selection of finds!

Way cool digs.congrsts.

Awesomeness. There will be a hefty total of buttons, spanish, and capped bust after these fields run dry...but I dont see that happening any time soon.

You are making me wish I lived in South Jersey. :notworthy:

Some awesome stuff there...keep those pics coming!

Isn't it great to get into a site like that? You'll be hunting there for weeks trying to scrounge the last little relic or coin from that field. Looks like you came home again with a very nice assortment of early finds. Congrats on the silver too. One of your watch winders looks almost identical to one I dug earlier this year except that I got lucky and mine is silver. Any idea on a date for that piece?

Congrats on the awsome finds. HH

nice finds. On the "hammond, turner, and Dickinson" button there appears to be some writing around the edge of the back...any ideas what it says?

great finds congrats:hello2:

Nice finds there lady. You do rock. I do like finding watch winders so far five for me we have to be close to twenty. See you the next fishing trip.

I do believe I replied that I thought it was off a chatelaine. Don in SJ dug one at a 1700s site if I recall correctly.

I do remember that now BB, but never could figure out what a chatelaine was.
