I know, this probably belongs in the coin forum, But..... Hopefully some of you might be able to put a different perspective on this? On the Obverse it is a 1999-D Jefferson, and on the Reverse it appear's to have, not only Jefferson's image, But when you rotate the image 90 degree's it also appear's to have Lincoln's as well, Since Lincoln is the only U.S. coin that is facing the right. When i scanned the Obverse at 1200 Dpi. It also seem's that it may have been struck with the Reverse of a 1999 Delaware State Quarter, The one with the horse. I've looked at it pretty good. At least long enough to find "WALDO"........... Anyone else got any clue's? ;)

I'd say someone Playing around, most likely a? couple of coins were Pressed together for awhile.

? You can create one by using Elmer's Glue &? sticking two coins together for a few days.

This Could also Explain the Discoloration.

Well, I broke the Cardinal Rule and cleaned it.... No Glue... So that Theory is out. And if it had been pressed in a vise with other coin's then the impression's of the other coin's would be incused and reverse.... They aren't? So, Any other idea's? As for the stained or tarnished area's some place's are golden to copper like some of the nickel's i have seen after they have gone thru the Scintering oven's?

Now I'm not 100% sure on this, but in error coins or more commonly call variety coins. This is known as a strike through. I don't know what the cause is but perhaps the website may help. http://www.conecaonline.org/ Very cool.
