My buddy invited me to a site he scouted out the previous weekend. The location was a late 1800’s early 1900’s site, but LIDAR also showed a depression (likely cellar hole) off the path on the way to the site.

Well we found the very old hole, no visible stones or bricks, and found so many targets that we will need to schedule a return visit to hit the actual target site. It was his first hunt with the Nox 800, his first target was a dandy button and first coin was a 1806 Half Cent... his day only got better from there...
I’ve found over 60 Indian Head Pennies, several of them being the fatty variety, but never the 1857/58 Flying Eagle until Saturday. Yeah, bucket lister!

Also found a 182x Matron Head Largie and a Merc.

Found a bunch of buttons including a tombac and a CW Eagle I.

Some nice clasps.

Misc relics.

And of course a variety of spoonage.

My favorite relic is this ornate watch winder.
