Finally a full one

Been roughly a year since I pulled a full point I finally got one that was a hell of a drought… it is made from a flake, but I don’t know if it’s fair to call it a flake tool… also interesting. It looks like sandstone, but I have to assume it’s a silicified sandstone or a quartzite and the nearest source I know of silicified sandstone is on the opposite corner of the state in Northwest Kansas. I also found a nice bifurcated base and that’s actually how I found the full point I was about to go home when I found that base and I figured I might as well dig a little around it to see if I can find the tip and instead of finding the tip, I got the full point

It kind of occurred to me after I posted that… if that’s cortex on both sides then maybe it’s not a flake tool. maybe they just made it out of a slab of chert that was roughly flake shaped… because a flake tool wouldn’t show a difference in patina like that. well regardless I’m counting it as a full tool

That was made from a tabular piece of material. It’s not very good quality material. Those are handy for making points. Not much thinning necessary, just chip the shape you want. No matter, counts as a complete point in my book.👍🏻
