Finally a Great Day...

It's been awhile since we had a day as good as this. This field has in the past given us every period of British history, which in itself is rare.

We did 4 hours 15 minutes, some of it in the rain, thankfully this field is quite sandy so we were spared the sticky boots.

After yesterdays 2 - 0 silver count, I was back on top with all the silver today.

Good lord!, are your arms tired?; that's a lot of finds.

Not really, it was a fairly average length day & the trash digs seem to be only 2/3rds of the keepers. We are used to digging far more & that is why I keep on about being quick on the recovery. It helps cover more area, we covered about 2 acres yesterday.

Its called a Cross Pattee with pellets in each angle.

It took me 20ish years & several upgrades to get my first sceat, then it opened the flood gates. Also, it has also sometimes taken us 2-3 years of clearing a site until the appear.
