Went out with my buddy JCobb this weekend, it started off on Saturday which was very rough for me ( Him, Not so much).
I think I found maybe 2 wheats at best, he scored a couple silvers and an old Masonic Token.
The one good thing , was one of the wheats turned out to be a 1922-D Wheaty!
So we met up the next day at one of our beaten down spots, it was starting to heat up, and to be honest, I was ready to go after a couple hours. I was digging tons of trash and coins too deep to make any sense. I walked over to see where James was hunting and ended up getting a bouncy 93-95 on the ATP.
I was telling him and laughed about it, because I can tell you that I have NEVER dug anything good with a number that high.
I dug down about 5-6 inches, and I saw it!!..I about freaked the F*** Out too..lol.. 1936 Walking Liberty!
You can never really be prepared to see something that big come out of the ground, at least I wasn’t.
Of course after my find. It felt like it cooled off about 30 degrees and I was full of energy again.
We ended up regrouping an hitting some vacant houses. Within 20 minutes, I found a worn Merc and wheat penny spill. Then a few later found this nice 1938-D Buffalo Nickel.
I never checked the Merc until we were about to head out….and when I wiped the front, I about freaked out again…it was a 1916 Merc!..So I flipped it around, and saw a Mintmark!
Buuuuuut…of Course it was a freakin “S”…anyway, I was very pleased with my finds this weekend
Ive been on a 3 week slump, and this was the way to break out of that!
1936 Walking Liberty Half Dollar
1916-S Mercury Dime
1938-D Buffalo Nickel
1922-D Wheat Penny
Thanks for lookin!
