Detector(s) used
New for 2023 Minelab Manticore, Minelab Equinox 800, XP Deus. Minelab Explorers SE Pro & XS, Whites 6000 Di Pro, DFX & Beach Hunter, Garrett AT Pro.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Ground finally thawed enough for me to give it a go this morning. Hit the usual park and saw Park Pirate was already working the hillside. Only dug two coins in the couple hours I was out but one was a nice 1903 indian head cent that cleaned up real well. Hit some frost about 8-10 inches down but digging wasn't too bad. A bit too muddy but I'll take it. Thank God those three months of not being able to detect are over !!!

Nice job ed, I waited all winter with you, but now ive blown my back out:BangHead:---gotta go see neuro guys--what a bummer

Nice IH Ed, it was a sloppy hunt, but at least we can swing....:occasion14:

What are your goals for the season Ed? Amazed at how many coins you pulled last year. Nice detail on tha ih

I think this year I'm going for quality rather than quantity. Hope to hit more cellar holes / colonial sites for some older coins. I'm really tired of digging nickels. I have no desire to top last year's total of 90 shield, V, Buffalo and war nickels ! I'm going to try to stay out of the parks and concentrate on older coins and relics. Just got home from 3 nights in Wells, Maine. Got up to Portland, Freeport and Bath. Mostly for shopping with the wife ! Still a lot of snow over there. I'll be back over in August. Maybe we can hook up for some detecting then...

Nice IH Ed I was hopping to get out tomorrow maybe I will see ya out there

Nice finds, glad you guys were finally able to get out

Hey buddy you drove right by my house in Topsham. As you go from Freeport to Bath there's a river on your left on rt 1. I live on that river. You let me know bud and I will put you on some very old sites. I'm trying to hunt a lot of 1600s sites this year. Less finds but more potential for some stunning stuff

Glad you were able to get out. Still have to much snow and frozen ground here but I might head a little east toward you guys on Tuesday and finally get my new toy dirty
