Detector(s) used
Compass & Beachunter 300, Garrett Seahunter Excalibur ll
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Hit the beach for a couple hours to try out my new beachhunter300. I took my Anderson shaft I had for the ex cal. I sent back and converted it to fit the beachhunter. Worked like a charm after drilling a few holes. The new coil will still float to the top if you let it go, however it take no force what so ever to keep it down while hunting unlike the old ones that you had to force down.

This machine does indeed go deep. My back is telling me so. I hit a good signal way down and when I looked in my scoop and took out the clump it appeared that it had a gold colored coin on edge in the clump. I re checked the hole and there was another signal. Dug that then I saw what it was ....keys... darn it..

At least this machine appears to be working great, time will tell. At least I am in the water again hunting and not shipping Excalibur's back and forth.

I agree it looks great, how is that huge coil for pinpointing, does it center easily? Do you get a full 20 hours from the eight batteries as stated? Good luck with it and let us know how it rates after a bit of use. Now go find some gold!...lol

Yeah, I am happy for you Bill. It only took 4 or 5 detectors before someone got it right. HH and see you this fall. Take Care.

Just like the old one the pinpointing on these machines is awesome, I always liked that about these, and as far as the batteries 40 hours on AA and a little over 30 hours on rechargeable ones. Not to shabby, and by the way has a battery check light....

Thanks mate, I think i've made up my mind now, all I gotta do is talk to the missus... ::)

You can't go wrong with this detector! I have the BHID with the upgraded Super 12 coil (coil in black color on my Anderson shaft).

The machine works GREAT!!! The pinpointing is spot on, still hot on the small stuff, It's deep too!!!

The coil cuts through the water and is balanced so well.

BUT, the best part is still having visual ID and running this machine in true all metal mode (how many can do that)!!!

it does look sharp on that shaft. I hope I just got the dude out of the bunch, and I pray I don't have to go through 3 like you before I get a good one.

Hey Bill

sweet new machine you have, glad you got a winner now again. Pleae let me know when you change out again and upgrade :tongue3: I might want to upgrade from your old one :tongue3:

I like the shaft set up also on that one and want to thank you again for your old machine, it is a gem and I am trying to also take the same great care of it you did. Now if the jellys will just leave I find my first gold ring with it.

thanks Bobby hopefully this one will work as sweet as the last one and go a little deeper. Time will tell..stay tuned lol

Bill...How well can you distinguish iron from good targets ?...can you rely on the three tones/Leds to discriminate ?...sorry you couldn't make it,but I certainly understand...rdi
