Hit the beach for a couple hours to try out my new beachhunter300. I took my Anderson shaft I had for the ex cal. I sent back and converted it to fit the beachhunter. Worked like a charm after drilling a few holes. The new coil will still float to the top if you let it go, however it take no force what so ever to keep it down while hunting unlike the old ones that you had to force down.

This machine does indeed go deep. My back is telling me so. I hit a good signal way down and when I looked in my scoop and took out the clump it appeared that it had a gold colored coin on edge in the clump. I re checked the hole and there was another signal. Dug that then I saw what it was ....keys... darn it..

At least this machine appears to be working great, time will tell. At least I am in the water again hunting and not shipping Excalibur's back and forth.

Bill...How well can you distinguish iron from good targets ?...can you rely on the three tones/Leds to discriminate ?...sorry you couldn't make it,but I certainly understand...rdi

I was wondering that myself when I bought a beach hunter, but I have learned using it that if it is red it is iron no doubt I have been amazed at how accurrate those 3 lights are.

Larry, yes it's brand new Kellyco said I received the first one that they have sold. It was $999.00

And yes like Bobby said when it lights red you can bet it's iron, in the beginning with my other one (beachhunter ID) I dug a lot just to see how accurate it was and it was always right on.

The lights are always right on and the pin pointing is awesome on this machine..
