Was brought out by a friend for a few hours today was telling him I'd like to find a complete shoe buckle since I've only gotten pieces and a knee buckle frame. And also I'd like to find an antler do to all the deer sign in the area. Well first target I dug was my complete shoe buckle all brass. And about 30 minutes later I found a shed antler. Also got 2 1840s largies and a button 20170513_135620.webp20170513_125447.webp

Yeap, funny when you 'call it'. Had many similar experiences, sometimes next dig after mentioning it, & with how many holes we dig, it often makes no sense!:hello2:

That is one heck of a site you've been hunting...WOW!!!! Shoe buckles are one of my most favorite things to find. They don't come along that often, but when they do, its always a good day. Yours is a beauty! Congratulations.

Congrats on some sweet finds and a good day out swinging for you!:occasion14:

I love old brass buckles and yours is a dandy. LC's and an eyeball antler to boot. Great finds and I am officially CALLING Seated Liberty Half Dollar for today's finds.:laughing7:

Great hunt! Thanks for sharing and congrats on that buckle! These keepers and firsts are no longer the "horns of your dilemma".
