Hi all I have been out there for 3 years now and Canadian Victorian silver has been eluding me but not anymore. I found this with my explorer 2 at about 8'' down at one of my old hunting grounds when I got the signal, it was deeeep the whole leshe blade was in the ground but when it saw light I did my happy dance wish you all could have seen it, anyway it is a silver nickel dated 1883 H ( H means heaton mint I think ) anyway I also found some clad and other stuff but here are the pics of the coin I hope you like and HH Xltsniper.....

Congrats! Just goes to show that no spot is hunted out!

Yes, your coin is from the Heaton mint and by 1862 the Heaton mint was the largest private mint in the world. In March 1889 it became a public limited liability company and renamed The Mint, Birmingham, Limited.
You also found a great coin in great condition; and with a mintage of only 600k pieces, the retail value of yours may exceed $100. Congrats!
Don.....

beautiful coin, good nick too

Very nice, far better than any I have.

Very nice find indeed ! Condition is outstanding . While I suppose it could be refered to as a half dime ,

I don't think the word nickel has any place here . Argentium.

I love old Canadian silver !!

Keep @ it and HH!!
