So today I detected at an place where I’ve detected before that I’ve found a lot of older stuff on. The place is nearly 3000 years old and I rarely get to detect here. So this time I detected for three hours and I remembered that last time I was here I had an signal I couldn’t find besides a 2000 year old house foundation. I found parts of a vessel in that hole but not my signal. So I’ve come back to this place 4 months later in hope of finding more parts of the old vessel. And sadly, I didn’t find any more parts of that vessel, instead I found the signal:

A thin Viking period Bronze Ring! I’ve always wanted to find something like this, I have found some tools from the Viking period but not any jewelry or better finds. This is what I’ve always hoped of finding on this permission.

Other finds from the hunt:

Plus three medieval Horseshoe Nails:

I’ve found it in Sweden and checked Swedish museum archives for similar rings and found very similar looking rings that date from 700 A.D to about 1100 A.D
Do you think it is older or earlier?
I thought near impossible to get a date, as stylistically it has no clear characteristics that would narrow it down. 19th C rings look near identical, however if it bronze then it suggests much older & I have seen & found very similar Roman ones. I just wouldn't like to say.

Well I think it's as old as the foundation that was besides this find (Around 2000 years old). So that will be my help for dating this ring.
