:hello2::hello2: After almost 10 years of looking in the north Georgia woods I have finally found a cellar hole!
I only had an hour or so to look but it wasn't wasted. Found a 1887 Injun, and this button. I can see an Eagle
and around the bottom it says "improved" And around the top I can make out a star, Then "J" space "W A L
either an X or a K then E and maybe a Y . Im not really sure......Ant help would be welcome. Dug alot of Iron

I just wanted to take a minute to thank er'body for the kind word's.
Like Erik in NJ said it's just the medallion off an old door mechanism
But it does have a little age on it, And I like it!

I think it's a more interesting find than a button. It certainly is a nice looking medallion and hopefully using BuckleBoy's technique will clean up quite well. Keep us posted on the cellar hole and please show a pic of the cleaned medallion. Again, nice finds and good luck at the new site! :)
