Just finished Finders Keepers, a 2024 novel by Sean Kingsley about a group of treasure hunters salvaging the “Nuestra Senora de la Merced,” a fictional lost ship of the 1622 Tierra Firma fleet. The story’s inspiration is the 2007 legal battle between Odyssey Marine Exploration and Spain over the Black Swan treasure, which was from the Nuestra Senora de la Mercedes according to Spain.
I enjoyed this novel and I think anyone interested in shipwreck salvage might also find it entertaining, especially anyone who followed the Odyssey vs Spain case. I’m not being paid to promote this book and I have no affiliation with Kingsley or his publisher, I just thought it was a fun read.
