To make the most effective use of my sometimes limited hunting time, I plotted some bank locations on a yahoo map. As I live in a major city, there's branches all over. (If you live in a small town with few banks, this may not be useful to you unless you're planning a city trip.) I managed to scrape together a decent pile of cash for coin roll hunting this coming weekend, but I'm not going to have too much time to hunt due to other commitments.
On the main Yahoo page there's a link for maps. Click on this and bring up a map for your area. On the right hand side, there's now a function that lets one find the nearest restaurant, florist, ect. Click on the "Financial/ATM" tab and check the box next to "banks". Yahoo will overlay dots where there are bank branches.
If one clicks the "printable version" for the map, the dots change color, get numbers, and below the map will be a corresponding list of bank branches with addresses and phone numbers. This way it's easy to find the big clusters of banks in commercial areas even if one has never been there before. Printed versions of these maps will now live under the seat of my truck and in my backpack for when I happen to have some free time.
Happy hunting! Ian
