Did a late night hunt that carried over until early this morning. Found this homesite in a field and got just a few keepers. The house must have burned at one time. The two Indians were cooked, I had to do electrolysis to even see the dates, 1881 and 1889. Wasn't too worried about messing them up considering their condition. Found a couple nice relics as well including a 1931 dog tag. For a second I thought it was from 1889 but that must have been an i.d. number. Was hoping for a little better from this site, but off to the next site.

Crazyjarhead, we like to hunt late because it draws less attention to where some of these hidden sights are. In this case, we were next to a highway. My one buddy lives across the street so we parked there and walked across. We have permission for every sight we hit, in fact across the field from this site is where I got a couple older IHP's the other day. Even though my SE has a backlight on the screen, I usually detect without looking at the screen. I am learning to use the sounds more than studying the screen, although I do check it on some signals. I also use a headlamp for looking at the finds. The other reason we hunt at night, we have to work during the day and hunting weekends is NOT enough. How has your hunting been lately?

Nice finds, WH. Like the heart-shaped item in the top right. What's on the back?
