If anyone has seen this markers mark I’d appreciate the info I’ve searched some pics but can find that one of course. Thanks for looking.

Excellent job on the lock Truth. Wow and CW to boot! Congrats on such an awesome find!

Sargent & Co. smokehouse padlock. While Sargent was around just before the CW.....this lock isn't. As far as a RR or strongbox lock....no also I'm afraid. These smokies are made of basically a thin gauge metal, no where near strong enough to do much else than keep honest people honest. Once in a while a lightweight lock will turn up as being marked as a RR lock, but not very often and was probably used in an office or warehouse lockup or some such. Sorry.

Don’t be sorry I still love it and it’s mine. Thank you for the information.

P.S. While I have you here can you tell me what you might know about this lock? I found at a 1820’s house. And once again thank you for your experience and time lockster99.IMG_0012.webp

YW. This lock is obviously British. GR...George Rex would be the King. However, I don't collect foreign locks at all. Looks like he ruled until 1839.....hmmm. Seems a little early but maybe not. That design was around for a very long time. Sooooo....guess not much help here.

Well I do appreciate the effort. Thank you lockster I’m beginning to develop a love for old locks.
