A little more than a week after breaking out of the 1900s by finding a 1765 Dutch Duit- my first coin in the 1800s is also- my first Indian! 1879 and there are some fine details peeking through. Hopefully some olive oil and toothpicking will bring out more! I’m very pleased! A6BC6F19-5DB1-4FBF-BF39-A001B275468E.webpE155BA22-C54C-49EB-ADA7-43282C7A0F5F.webp

Congrats on your first IHP. Living in Bucks county, PA you should continue to find coins from the 1700s and 1800s if you just put the time in on the right spots

Nice find if you take about a couple spoon fulls of hydrogen peroxide microwave it for about 30 seconds put the coin in it for about 5 minutes will clean it up nice if its not a key date Great job!!!!!

Welcome also!!!!!

Congratulations on your first IHP and 1800’s coin! The coin looks like it could clean up nicely.

Very cool find! Love those IHP's. Looks like it should clean up nice.

One of my favorite coins the Indian Head Cent. Congratulations on a coin I always think about.

Nice early date! I found my first Indian Head and 1800s coin this year as well.

Still some good details under that crud.
Congratulations on your first IHP,

From the looks of it that IH has some great detail! :occasion14:

I`d keep searching around where you found it, I have found others nearby three times now, they don`t always give the same signal.

1879 nice I believe that's a semi key date...:occasion14:

I am still waiting to enter the 1700s club. Welcome to the 1800s club.
