Well, I got busy today in the woods. Followed a path a short distance into the woods and found an overgrown clearing. I noticed an old foundation so I started swinging. My first dig was a two-cent piece (1868 this is my first). Not the prettiest thing, but I'll take it. Found two Mercs 1936 and 1944. Two buffalos (1919 and 1928) and 3/5th of a V Nickel, only one Indian (1907) and 10 wheaties dating from 1911 to 1956 (a few of the dates I couldn't read). Only dug 3 memorials and one clad dime. Tons and Tons of pull tabs. I do believe there was just a few parties back here. Depths ranged from 2 to 6 inches, most being in the three inch range. I'll be visiting this one again

Wow, excellent finds.....now explain to me overgrown/clearing......huh? Just kidding. Hopefully it keeps producing for you...

Very nice. Haven't found a two center yet. I'd take it any condition. ;D

Nice haul. :)

Congratulations a great pile of finds. Especially that 2 cent piece. Certainly not one that I see here very often.

Congrats on the 2-center. I've NEVER found one of those (the list of things I've never found is rather extensive, though).

Where abouts in Illinois are you diggin'?

I'm originally from outside of Quincy............
