Well just got my Equinox in and went out with Civil_war22 and DiggerRJ to mine and my brothers site to do some civil war hunting and I'd definitely say I was impressed. 31 balls in 2 days. Now just to find some buckles or coins haha.View attachment 1782217 20191222_201900.webp

Nice finds. The EQX loves lead. I've dug a lot of 22 cal bullets, and they hit hard and deep for as tiny as they are. I've hit dimes and quarters down to 8 - 10 inches, so I cant imagine how deep it would hit something as big as a buckle. Good luck.

well those turned out nice, even though the only ones showing are the ones you found today. I'm about to post mine once the YouTube finishes loading. I'd have to say the NOX did quite well for that filthy soil.

Yea it did great, definitely ready to hear the ol 69 cal 3 ringers haha

Might have seen it in the YouTube video. We put flags at all the bullets we found, and was easily able to ID where they were camped, and where at one time was shot upon

Yea anytime we found a bullet we place a marking flag there. It was amazing to see how the bullets laid out. Very CSI kinda stuff, made it real easy to get a feel of where others might be and it worked.

Oh I get it now. Yes, good idea! I would even go one step further (if you can). I used GPS to log all my finds at my ghost town site. Partially to get me back to hot spots and partially to find trends. You can load all those waypoints into google-earth and mark them with specific colors or symbols to denote types, such as drops vs fired or pistol/rifle/caliber, etc.

That’s what we did. All of our recoveries of bullets were flagged on google earth. That way we had it all written down, and also took pictures of the locations.
