I was fortunate enough to get to come to Australia for a couple weeks and so glad I brought by detector with me.
I took a short uber to Port Melbourne and was lucky enough to catch low tide. After talking to a few people on here from the area, I was worried I wouldn't get a beep the whole time I was there.
That wasnt the case....I felt like i had a target about every 30 seconds! Of course while most was trash, I was still happy to see there were digable targets in the sand.
Out of the 4 hour hunt, I did manage a couple coins and a small silver ring! Its funny, because I have hunted beaches in Texas and Florida with less results.
I was pretty much digging anything because I had no idea what coins read here, but I learned quickly.
Here are my finds! I got a couple 50c coins which look so damn cool coming out of the ground and then a couple 5c coins.
I moved to a different part and out of the 4 hours, my ONLY high tone was this tiny silver ring, which oddly read like a Quarter. I also found a couple little dog tags " Welly" and "Slater". This makes total sense as the time I was on the beach, I had to see at least 50 dogs running around. I think I was the only one without a dog.
I never actually hit "Dry" sand while I was there, all this was from low tide ...which I learned comes back in VERY quickly.

It wasn't a huge haul, but its all about the experience and always going to remember being here.
Also ran across some wildlife....There were HUNDREDS for Starfish just swimming around

Im gearing up now to get there in a couple hours to catch low tide. What's crazy is even though it's in the 40s..I never really felt cold while I was down there.
Thanks for looking!
