Very nice find!!!!

His first Colonial, and he's gonna sell it??? Man, if I ever get my first Colonial, that one's going into my coin collection. It just doesn't get much older than that in the States.

Agree, I can't sell anything.(fullstop)

Go back and finds it's brother and you won't have to by it... ;D ;D ;D

Sell a MD find....I cringe at that.....Sorry not my way of thinking....

Tell him Congrats

If he wants to sell it, that is his business.

This sounds like when you go and catch a big fish. Everybody has their opinion. Some say your crazy if you don't mount it. Others say you should have let it go. Others say you shouda ate it their good eatin'.

It is a personal decision, I love this hobby but I must admit I am not really into coins. I might keep something like this or I might pay a bill with it. I am selling some finds now to justify a better Detector. Does that make me a bad person?

Yea, that would be a rough one to part with.

Even if I was starving and destitute I would never sell it. I never understood those who are in this hobby just for profit. Zeus

ok,, i either worded this wrong or ya just don't get it.........
sancho,, i will let him know he needs a second job.....what a dope..

We alway's get the short end of the stick Green....Happened to me twice so far, took my "tectin" buddy to one of my spot's...1810 LC....second time 1834 CB dime...three strike's you're out!!!!!!!

Zeus,
I never understood people that just collect things and never do anything with them. Why, so when you die your heirs can sell it for less than it is worth? I save things I like. If you like coins be my guest. When possible I would rather sell them to guys like you that appreciate them more. I understand your point of view but what if you find a 10 gram 18kt ring that has somebodys initials on it. It would have no significance to you would it? If not what would be wrong with selling it and perhaps buying a colonial coin or something that you care about. Don't forget there are a lot of people in the hobby that don't even pursue coins. Some go for meteorites, gold, relics, civil war stuff, and have little interest in coins. I think most people that get into this for a profit quickly get out of it, but I see nothing wrong with it if they don't. Thats what's great about owning something. You can marvel over it, sell it or give it away. I try not to understand people, I gave up on that a long time ago. I spend more time now on trying to understand who I am, what I was and what I want to be. Have a nice day and may all your detecting dreams come true!
