Jan 3 2015 is my first day Dirt Fishing and I am happy with what I uncovered and learned in such a short time out in the Dirt Pond.
Temp is at about 40 degrees, Raining
Tools:
BH Tracker IV, w/ head phones
Garden potting shovel.
Location: castleB groovey ( my house) Calvert Co Maryland
History: I built the house in 1986 proir it was part of a large farm, with the use of aerial imaged I can tell it was cleared crop land and woods
Today my very first find and only coin so far is a 1965 penny I found it about 5" down in my front yard! I am very stoked!
second find was a Lock from what I am sure is a toy gun, a nail, two old cans left (behind) one old Budweiser one Pepsi A champion spark plug what appears to be an engine crank bearing a metal strap clip and a utility pin that would be used to hold implements DSC_0040.webpDSC_0051.webpDSC_0050.webpDSC_0048.webpDSC_0049.webp

Thanks All, I am/was so stoked about what I found that I forgot to add a bit of what I learned and want to shre with others just starting like me,,

Number one with out a pin pointer I was passing clumps by hand in front of the coil..... make sure your wedding ring or any other ring is not on that hand ! haha

Number two,, get a real sturdy digger,, the potting soil on I scooped up out in the shed dies fast !

Number three. Get use to flipping the toggle ( tracker IV) so you learn the sounds of the machine ! I guess time and use is the best teacher !

Thanks again ! digging it ! a Ooops a funny slipped !
