Wow I finally got out to do some detecting since this spring. I was on vacation this week. We went to the beach last Sunday. It was a good day for clad. I only spent two hours out there before the crowds came in for a total of $2.04.

I hit a 1700's home site with a friend of mine. The owner gave us lots of history about his property so we detected an old cellar hole in the property first. He found two Indian Head pennies 1860's and a few widgits. I found a nice old spoon and that's about it.

I went back out yesterday and did much better. Two Indian Head pennies 1900, 1905 both in pretty nice shape. I found a really nice brass bell. It had the letter B and the number 4 stamped in it on the top. I'm not sure if that would indicate size or weight? It cleaned up really nice. The clacker is missing but it still rings with just the wire in it.

In the woods opposite the cellar hole I found what seems to be a very small wedding ring. This is the second one I have ever found. It is made of some sort of nickel/pewter type material. No initials or anything in it. This is just a really cool piece and I love it. Also found were some nice colonial buttons and a few harmonic reeds ;D Here are some pics of my finds. Thanks for looking ;D

Very nice finds. Love that old bell. I have a few on display that I've found over the years. I'd say you've got a real honey hole there. Work it slow and show us some more goodies. Thanks for sharing!

Nice finds!

I found an old copper wedding band back in the Spring. Apparently most people could not afford gold or silver wedding bands in colonial times. I have been considering polishing mine up to wear. Odd as it may seem it is exactly the right ring size for me!

Nice going Ed....LOVE the Bell!!! ;D

It's my understanding that most bands were plated in Colonial times...I have 4 that are copper, and look to have been plated many years ago. ;)

Glad to see you made it out...check out the 1761 coin I found in New Ipswich today. :)

Love the bell.

That would make a nice wind chime.

Congratulations!

That's a great collection of artifacts you have going there. You need to get out more often.
