Well.. finally decided on an MD. Went with the Omega 8000 after lengthy research and consideration, and with the help from Bart at Big Boys Hobbies. One of the easiest purchases I've ever made and fast shipping. Just can't go wrong with Bart's help... certainly will work with him in the future.
I've used a Ace 250 and a QuickSilver... but this is the first I've ever owned. So far, I'm happy with my choice.
Given the weather... I've only had a chance to "play" with it for about an hour. During this time, found my first coin, a penny in my backyard.
Looking forward to providing as much information as I have gleaned from this forum so far.
