I was snooping around at one of my local second hand shops & spotted a Whites XLT E-series. Was told batteries wouldn't hold a charge. Not a scratch on the coil or main box. Carbon fiber shaft, extension, ni-cad & alkaline pack & charger, $90.

Put new batteries in & unit wouldn't turn on, opened it up & tested voltage, nothing. Moved contacts on board, presto 12+ volts. Turn it on again.....nothing. Noted orientation of ribbon cable & removed it to look a board closer, thought it was weird no orientation notches for cable, flipped it around & it came on.

Watched a old series on YouTube, went out into yard, found 2 pull rings, a broken key & a tire gauge body.

Really rocky in Northwest Arkansas, any suggestions on settings? Lots of 95+ hits, hot rocks?

Thanks Paul 20190510_151059.webp
