First find with metal detector today

Hello. I am very new to this forum, so if I'm posting in the wrong place, my apologies. That said, I purchased a Pioneer 202 off craigslist for $30 bucks a couple weeks back, but today was really the first time I have attempted to do some hunting(in my yard!). Anyhow, my better half worked the detector and I manned the shovel, below you will find our first discoveries. Thanks.

1. a dime - can't really read the date, soaking it in vinegar as we speak

2. not sure, dinged the metal detector as $.25 - looks like a blob of metal? no idea..soaking also

3. a little dirty matchbox car (truck actually) didn't take picture

4. a piece of tin or aluminum - looks like old window trim maybe . didn't bother with picture either

P.S. - had fun-minus all the flying biting bugs that were swarming me..can't wait for cooler weather

Congrats you'll be finding much more! I always carry bug spray or one of those rub-on repellent sticks.

Congrats on your finds and joining the group. O still have my first find which was junk but it means a lot to me. My wife, daughter and I found it and there's no way I'd throw it away. Keep after it and learn that machine, I wish you the best. Also using bug spray is ok of course but this is no joke..dryer sheets, take them and rub on exposed areas and it keeps biting bugs off, plus u smell good.
