Hey Everybody, first day here. Always wanted to treasure hunt. Went out with my metal detector to a local field and found a quarter ~6” deep. Nothing crazy but I’m hyped about it! Happy to be here.

I’m in Massachusetts and I’m not sure the detector brand but it’s pretty cheap. So far it’s been pretty unreliable too. Kind of just beeps the same way for anything kind of deal. Do you have a recommendation for something better that won’t break the bank?

You've got the FEVER! Welcome to TNet. As Gare said, what brand & type of detector do you have? Depending on your answer, it may be just a matter of learning more about it, good swinging techniques, the type(s) of artifacts you're looking for, the soils in your area.......

Congratulations on your first find, and welcome to the forum!!

Post a photo of your detector, someone here is sure to know what it is.

You need to give us a price range before we can recommend a detector.
