First finds of 2016

Hello! I've finally had some time to get out digging. Nothing special yet but the goodies will come.





Pretty basic coins. Every old field is filled with these.


Also found this. Probably went on a belt or something. Late medieval?

The last piece is interesting but its robust fixing pins rules out Medieval (I believe). The Pins look to be 18th-19th C. Its odd, because if it were meant to go on leather its been over engineered. Maybe it gave strength to a joining point of 2 leather pieces? It's interesting & although it probably was on leather, I wonder if it had another function.

Bit of a mystery. I've seen that design before but no one seems to know exactly what they were for.
