Still trying to get the new DFX figured out but having fun doing it. Yesterday I got out for a bit and detected my neighbor's yard. The only exciting find was my first flat button. The front is totally devoid of features but the back still has some gilt. The button appears to be from the Henry Elias & Co of Philad. It also says treble gilt which I am guessing was a heavier gold plating. I could not find any info about the company online so a date is unknown. Any Ideas?

Nice button,

Pre 1850 for sure. I'd guess around 1820 1830.

Very nice button

Jer and lock, thanks much. It was my very first button and also my oldest find ever. I'm starting to like this DFX more and more. FYI, PBK said that it is probably from 1820 to 1840. Nice call JER!!!
