Got permission yesterday for the field across the street from the gold coin field. I knew it had a circa 1730 home in it that was in ruins by 1979 and torn down soon after. I took the day off and spent most of the morning trying to find where it had been finally locating it around 11
Site is full of brick and is a carpet of iron and unfortunately has a lot of early 20th century contamination but at least no pulltabs
. There is also corn stubble so the hunting will be better next season when it will likely be rotated to soybeans. I think Ill be busy for awhile
Favorite finds were the toasty KG II, KG III, LC, early trapezoidal buckle fragment and the 1838 half dime. I keep knocking on the door of a capped bust but it wont let me in. Lol
Found the stuff in last photo at colonial site across street from my house. Seems like you can literally walk into any field around here and find old stuff
