Got permission yesterday for the field across the street from the gold coin field. I knew it had a circa 1730 home in it that was in ruins by 1979 and torn down soon after. I took the day off and spent most of the morning trying to find where it had been finally locating it around 11

Site is full of brick and is a carpet of iron and unfortunately has a lot of early 20th century contamination but at least no pulltabs:). There is also corn stubble so the hunting will be better next season when it will likely be rotated to soybeans. I think Ill be busy for awhile

Favorite finds were the toasty KG II, KG III, LC, early trapezoidal buckle fragment and the 1838 half dime. I keep knocking on the door of a capped bust but it wont let me in. Lol

Found the stuff in last photo at colonial site across street from my house. Seems like you can literally walk into any field around here and find old stuff

My man. You are finding some awesome old stuff. The sexfoil mount is dang tough to find around these parts. I have one. Mine may have been used in the end of a swagger stick or something? It's got a nail-like spike instead of the 2 prongs for leather attachment.

I actually found 3-4 of those on another colonial site of mine. The colonial finds are drying up quickly on my newest site though

Thats impressive.

I take for granted all the Spanish silver we find on the Southern Eastern Shore. We lack coppers. But thats ok.

Ive got five. Any colonial find that is not a button or small buckle frag is special imo. I find maybe 1 for every 10 buttons

Nice. I have just the one sexfoil type. I've got this one 17th century site which has produced over 50 leather ornamentals in total. I plan to do a post on it at some point. All small types.
