I’ve been working offshore and unable to hunt. On my way home I stopped at a North New England shoreside town to a spot. It was completely overgrown but scored this beauty by the seashore.

An quite knowledgeable friend pointed out that the hallmark is angled. He said that a Birmingham mintmark is typically sideways to the datemark and not angled. That said, we seem to both agree it’s mid to late 19th century.

And thought or insight is welcome, of course.

Good hunts

Steve

Very nice ring. We have the same problem but for us its the heat, have dug MAYBE a few times since February. Here we are thinking summer is pretty much done, and today was almost 90 :BangHead:

Nice! Congrats on the gold ring find. Always makes it worth the hunt when you find gold. Well done.

That is a great ring! A gold ring in general is cool, but an old one is even cooler.
