I also put this post in "Today's Finds" last week.
Would welcome any comments from people that have been using the "Tekkna" and or "Legacy" programs.
What do you like or not like about these programs for hunting in Iron infested areas ?

I've Been using the Deus 1 for the last 9 years - just got a Deus 2 last week.
The first hunt I went on was at a old Church site - the Church was built in 1842 and burned down in 1930.
This site is a carpet of iron - literally 10 to 20 or more iron hits in every swing.
Grid searched this area several times in the past with the E-Trac with a 6" coil and Deus 1 - never found one old coin.
Hunted same 60 ft. by 60 ft. area the exact same way with the D2 using Gary's "Tekkna" Program.
Hunted the area for over an hour - only got one good clean hit that really stood out.
A 1897 Indian Cent down about 6" with five or six rusty nails in the same hole - pretty cool !

Good Hunting !

I've had my DEUS II for about 2 years and I will tell you, its NOTHING like the DEUS I, So don't expect it to be, your DEUS II is for hunting older sites with iron and trash and it will pick up coins or other Non Ferrous items with Iron in the same hole, Almost all machines from the past would see the Iron and give you an Iron sound and walk you on to something else, Not the DEUS II,
Saturday me and a friend hunted a place that I was taken to by someone from a metal detecting club 25 years ago, I could NOT imagine anything being left there to find that was old... I just knew that 40+ machines had been walking over that ground the past 40 years..
When the guy took me, he told me it had been hunted hard.. and we did not get anything that I remember...
But Saturday with the DEUS II was a SHOCKER to say the least... (my partner has a Minelab 800 and he did not get anything old)
Right in front of the building not 10 feet from the front door, in the midst of tons of signals...
I pulled this.. I was in utter disbelief ...
go back to that Churchyard and set it on Basic, and ground balance it, and turn the discrimination down to 75-80 and dig anything that seems a higher tone, I think you will find more, maybe a LOT more..

How can 40 machines and 30+ years walk over a half dollar ?

Sorry I missed this post. I use both Tekkna and Legacy. I like both for iron infested areas. Honestly, I use Tekkna more. I just like everything about the program and find myself turning to it all the time. It seems to find more good signals mixed in the iron. There is just something about the program that speaks to me. I also have Gary's Tekkna, based on the Mono program which works well in high EMI areas.

I have had good luck using the Legacy program. All I can tell you about what I like is it does pull good signals through the iron and seems to work well most places.

I've been using Gary's program and it really does well in separation in the iron.
I'll run a custom program beside it to check if it's big iron or a bent square nail using the X/Y screen.
Though I preferred the X/Y screen better with the D1 over the D2.
I haven't tried the Legacy program as if yet. Might load it and try when spring comes. But there's still a good foot of the white stuff.

I noticed tekkna will give a mixed signal on some iron items, if you get a high tone and a grunt on an item beware. I actually like the fast program in trashy areas really cancels out the nails and scrap iron and hit hard on items that may not always be great but they are something identifiable

You did good E-Trac
