Still hunting the same spot. Found a Shield Nickel, tag that reads "W.P. PATENT" with a small crown symbol??, and this really heavy, strange shaped whatzit that was a consistent 79 on the AT Pro. The nickel is my first identifiable old coin, so I'm pretty excited about that. Definitely dates that part of my site a little later than I was hoping. Thanks for looking!

I like the shield nickel. I haven't found one yet, and I've been hunting a long time. Good job.

Thanks much. Been detecting for a long time as well, but back just south of your location on farms that just aren't old enough for something of this date. I'm really liking the East Coast! Appreciate the comment.

Congrats on the shield Nickel. hard to date a site on one coin, good luck and keep hunting.

Yes, could be a later drop.
The "W.P. patent" piece appear's to be a padlock keyhole cover.
