Found my first Mercury Dime tonight at a small park on the way home from work. Most of the park had been renovated but there were some old trees along a parking strip so I gave it a try. The coin was about 3" deep in hard packed dirt and I feel lucky I didn't hanzo it with my digger. It's a little rough but it easily makes my top 10!

Congratulations! Lucky, I haven't found any silver yet but I'm still hopeful lol Nice find!

Nice silver. Where there's one there's more. Dig deep!

Congrats

Congrats on your first!

Your first silver lady you'll always remember. She won't be your last. My first silver was a merc from an old park. That's what got me hooked on this hobby.

Great first! , mercs are 1 of my favorite dimes!

Nice mercury.

Very cool. One of my favorite parts of this forum is seeing people hit firsts. I keep journals and its always fun to check one of the list

Pretty dang awesome!!!

Mercs are always cool!! They're from a time when US coins were works of art. Tony

Not that I would be unhappy with any silver found, but I secretly hope my first silver is a mercury dime as well. I don't know what it is about it, but that is such a beautiful coin.

Well done!

Great job; this is a majestic coin, my personal favorite. Have fun and I wish you many more...Brad

Your Kill Bill movie reference was not lost on me. Congrats on your first merc dime.

Nice find I have found three mercs and 2 of them were also 41's is that coincidence or did they make a lot that year?

Your Kill Bill movie reference was not lost on me.

Nice catch. I use a Japanese digging tool called a Hori Hori but "Hatori Hanzo" would have been a much better name. It slices through worms like Crazy 88s.

Congrats on your first one. I hope your next is soon!

Congrats on your first Merc! Finding a first of anything is always a thrill.

Thank you for sharing your hunt and those pictures with us .
